We’re thrilled to announce the team that will be helping you follow all of the amazing things happening at this year’s ONA Conference. This group of 11 curators will be covering the sessions at ONA 2017 live. Also look for their visual coverage on the ONA Instagram account.<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Karen Workman and Ron Nurwisah<\/em><\/p>\n April Bethea is a homepage producer at The Washington Post. Before coming to D.C., she wore many hats at The Charlotte Observer in her hometown. April also served on the program team for #ONA17.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Stephanie Ebbs works at ABC News in Washington in a variety of roles. Prior to moving to D.C., she worked at the Columbia Missourian while pursuing graduate and undergraduate degrees at the Missouri School of Journalism. Themes of her social feed include exploring the city and weekend baking or cooking projects. <\/span><\/p>\n Marina Fang is an associate politics editor at HuffPost, based in its Washington, D.C. bureau. She covers politics, breaking news, national politics and policy, and occasionally the intersection of politics and pop culture.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Meena is the social editor at FiveThirtyEight. She currently resides in New York City and previously lived in Washington, D.C., where she held stints as an elections producer at C-SPAN, a live events producer at The Washington Post and a digital politics producer at the PBS NewsHour. Meena is originally from Anchorage, Alaska (her aim screen-name was meenamoose).<\/span><\/p>\n Lauren is a senior engagement manager for Vox. She previously worked on the social teams for Google Glass and NPR. She believes you miss 100% of the likes on the tweets you don\u2019t send. When Lauren isn’t staring at a screen, she\u2019s biking around D.C., discovering the best spots for her gluten-free blog.<\/span><\/p>\n Ross is\u00a0an audience development and engagement editor for The Guardian in the U.S. In previous roles, he\u2019s worked as a social strategy manager, reporter and copy editor at both legacy and new media organizations. He’s originally from Michigan, and currently in New York.<\/p>\n Kimeko is a social media editor at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A graduate of Georgia Southern University, she has served as a columnist, feature writer and beat reporter throughout the Southeast. <\/span><\/p>\n Gracie is the social media editor for CityLab, The Atlantic’s sister site focused on the future of cities. Before that, she worked in public radio, as a digital producer for NPR’s Here & Now and The Diane Rehm Show. She has a lot of opinions about D.C.’s best bike lanes and ice cream.<\/span><\/p>\n Mary is the engagement editor for small media start-up in Greenville, S.C., which produces a daily newsletter, curates relevant news for the Upstate S.C., and produces original content. She’s a native of Colorado and started her career with the USA Today Network as a multimedia producer after attending Colorado State University. Her interests include how media, society and technology intersect as well as audio and social media trends. <\/span><\/p>\n Hannah is the engagement editor at The Dallas Morning News. She oversees the newsroom’s social media strategy and seeks ways to cultivate conversation around the News’ journalism. She is also the Online News Association Dallas-Fort Worth chapter co-founder and president. She is the stitching maven behind behind the viral Instagram account @sewmanycomments where she doesn’t read the comments, but sews them. <\/span><\/p>\n Social Team Organizers<\/strong><\/p>\n Karen is an assistant news editor at The New York Times. She came to New York from Michigan and has been hanging around newsrooms since she was a teenager. She resides in Brooklyn, NY, and believes Prospect Park is everything. She is the social team volunteer chair for ONA17.<\/span><\/p>\n Ron is audience development manager at HuffPost Canada and is the co-organizer of the ONA Toronto chapter. He loves podcasts, long-reads and a good pint after a run. He is the social team volunteer co-chair for ONA17.<\/p>\n Jennifer Mizgata\u00a0|\u00a0@JMizgata<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n As director of programs for the Online News Association, Jen designs programming that supports and builds community among digital journalists. She lives in Baltimore, MD, and works out of D.C., which is a totally reasonable thing to do and gives her access to all of the best things in both places.<\/p>\n As the communications coordinator for the Online News Association, Laura manages ONA’s social media accounts and newsletter circulation. Previously at the Institute for Nonprofit News, Laura has also worked as a photographer, reporter, and fact-checker in newsrooms.
