Under the Hood: IRE Takeover on Data Tricks and Tactics
Our Under the Hood sessions offer a deep dive into bold ideas and are led by all types of newsroom leaders.
In this special session, our friends at Investigative Reporters and Editors, Inc. are organizing a (friendly!) takeover of one of our Under the Hood rooms. They'll discuss a variety of ways to mold data into compelling stories.
In this unconventional format, we’ll start with lightning talks on a variety of mid-career challenges.
From there, you can choose your own adventure. Pick one of the ideas that piques your interest, then do a deeper dive with the presenters.

- Zone 1: Tracking money and influence in the new political landscape – Carrie Levine, Derek Willis
- Zone 2: Turning Documents into Data – Steven Rich
- Zone 3: Multimedia Storytelling with Data – Chiqui Esteban, Katie Park, Tisha Thompson
