Sara Catania

Sara, an award-winning journalist, educator and entrepreneur, is the founder of JTrust, a newsletter highlighting efforts to fix the broken trust in journalism. Previous roles include editorial director of Zócalo Public Square, a non-profit blending live events and humanities journalism, and West Coast Editor in Charge at Reuters. Prior to that she helmed the digital operation at NBC4 Southern California, first as editorial director and then as vice president of digital news. She was a regional editor at AOL's hyperlocal Patch.com and has worked as a Mother Jones contributor, as a staff writer specializing in long-form storytelling for the LA Weekly and as a reporter at the Los Angeles Times. She serves on the selection committee for the JSK fellowships at Stanford, and is a former adjunct journalism professor at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism.
