Brooke Van Dam
Brooke is an Associate Professor of the Practice and Faculty Director of the MPS in Journalism at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Brooke came to D.C. after a post as Associate Professor of Communication Studies and the Journalism Program Coordinator at Azusa Pacific University. She received her PhD in Media Sociology from City University London and her Masters in International Journalism from the University of Westminster. Her PhD, which was completed in 2010, focused on the changing practices of journalists that work to create news for a web and mobile audience. This research has become a key feature of Brooke’s teaching and consulting which ensures students and professionals are prepared for the evolving world of journalism.
